Meeting was a Great Hit!

Thu, Dec 4, 2008

I justed wanted to say that our Fall Meeting was a great hit, a definite smash!

Mike Molter gave a great keynote talk entitled “Tips and Tricks for Creating the Reports Your Clients Need to See”.   He gave us some great tips on some of the lesser known features of PROC REPORT and ODS.  Mike was the former chair of GVSUG and so it was wonderful to have him come back home and share with the group.  Mike is currently a Principal Statistical Programmer with a company in North Carolina called INC.

We also heard a great talk from Steve Lalonde on ODS Statistical Graphics using SAS 9.2  Steve is a Professor of Statistics at RIT and GVSUG is always thankful for his great presentations.  Steve is a former executive committee member of GVSUG and continues as a current member of GVSUG.

Mike Tomb, our vice-chair/secretary, gave a great performance with PROC TRIVIA (the Jeopardy like game we played at NESUG 2008 in Pittsburgh).  Mike Tomb is also the owner of Informatica ECS, Inc.  The ECS stands for Essential Computational Services.  His company offers Software and Application Development / Data and Technical Services / Systems and Management Consulting.

But that was not all………….

We had annual elections and I am happy to say that we have 8 members on our executive committee board.  Joe Guido, Chair; Mike Tomb, Vice-Chair; Janet Albright, Treasurer; Sam Sanfratello, At-Large; Susan Greenberg, At-Large; Debbie Birdsall, At-Large; Bill Csont, At-Large; and Adam Rains, At-Large and our very own webmaster.

Congrats again to Lauren Parlett for winning the GVSUG Logo Contest.  Thanks to Janet Albright for arranging a great choice of finger foods.  Adam Rains did a great job at EMCEE.  Well I could go on and on but I especially wanted to thank the membership for supporting GVSUG.  This is your group and the executive committee needs to hear from you so that we know what you want from GVSUG.   Thank you.

Joseph J Guido, Chair
